Our Story
Blake & Alder Property Management was created from a simple belief: that property management can be personal, intentional, and deeply connected to community. Founded by Justin Pavis, a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, the company began with a vision of elevating the standard of care in the Portland metro housing market.
The name Blake & Alder honors the dogs Justin shares with his husband Daniel. Their presence embodies everything the company stands for: loyalty, comfort, warmth, and the feeling of home. Over time, that spirit has shaped a boutique management firm that is thoughtful, inclusive, ethical, and driven by genuine relationships.
What started as a small, heart-led idea has grown into a respected property management company trusted by owners, investors, and residents across the region. But no matter how much the business expands, our focus remains the same: people first, community always.

Founder & CEO
Justin Pavis leads Blake & Alder with a relationship centered, values driven approach shaped by years of experience, community leadership, and genuine passion for helping people. Known for his clarity, communication, and commitment to doing things the right way, Justin has positioned Blake & Alder as a boutique management firm grounded in trust and professionalism.
He sits on multiple boards, works alongside nonprofit organizations, and invests his time in strengthening the neighborhoods and business communities across the Portland metro. His leadership is built on the belief that community thrives when people show up for one another with intention and authenticity.
As a proud LGBTQIA+ advocate, Justin uses his platform to uplift queer voices, expand representation in the housing sector, and support safe, welcoming spaces for renters and owners.
When he is not working, Justin is actively traveling with his husband Daniel, exploring new places, and gathering inspiration from the world around him. At home, he enjoys spending time with their dogs Alder and Reggie, embracing the small, grounding moments that reflect what home truly means.
